The lonely 12-year-old Shay suffers from bullying at school. His father, Yaki, is indifferent to his plight, and is more preoccupied with his failed fundraising for the publication of the book he wrote. Everything changes when Shay discovers Yaki’s dark secret, and threatens to change the balance of power in the house.
Relationships between parents and their children will always be complex, but some children will simply drag you to the edge. 12-year-old Shay has a crappy life in his opinion: he is overweight, the kids in his class abuse him, the teacher ignores him, his older brother beats him, and his mother is always sure that everything is fine and prefers to worry about other people’s troubles. And then there is his father, Yaki, who is sure that he is a charismatic father but is actually focused only on himself and his pathetic dream – to publish a book about his life.
One night, in a particularly cruel moment, Shay discovers to his astonishment that Yaki is having an affair. He decides to take revenge on him and begins to blackmail him with a false identity and restores his power to his life. But he did not foresee the entire chain of events that he is dragged into because of the blackmail, which leads to an intergenerational struggle between father and son and involves too many people along the way: Hagit, the frustrated lover, Aryeh, the complicated private investigator and Avigdor, the cowardly neighborhood pedophile.
What will happen when Shiki finds out who blackmailed him? Will the family bond be able to overcome the ugly truth, or will the attempt to “fix” this family be the one that destroys it?
