If Debbie Friedman (1951–2011) was a modern-day Miriam – leading Jewish music with prophetic voice and spirit – then it is only fitting to celebrate one of her most beloved compositions as we approach Shabbat Shirah, the moment of the Song of the Sea.

Psalm 150 calls for all instruments, culminating in the powerful exhortation:
“Let everything that has breath praise God.” (Ps. 150:6)

May music continue to uplift and inspire, reminding us that no matter what is happening in the world, singing out with strength and hope will always help.

Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom!
