Kan 11: The revelation of Israel’s atomic secrets and the Mossad’s kidnapping operation made the Vanunu affair one of the most important and fascinating stories in the country’s history. The series takes the viewer deep into the character of Vanunu and delves into the process that led to what would later be called the “Atomic Spy Affair.”
From his childhood in Marrakech, his absorption in Neighborhood D in Be’er Sheva, his acceptance to work at the reactor, through his days as a supervisor at Institute B on the secret floors, the radicalization process he went through, the decision to document from inside the reactor, his dismissal in violation of instructions, his departure from the country without anyone knowing, to the Mossad’s worldwide manhunt for him and the kidnapping operation designed to bring him to Israel for trial. The series is a comprehensive journalistic investigation into Vanunu, the reactor in Dimona and the Doomsday weapon, which brings revelations of classified documents, exclusive photographs, new information and interviewees who have never been revealed before. The three episodes of the series have been approved for publication by the censors.
