Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona passed away Wednesday at the age of 60 from a heart attack.
In 1985, Maradona, who was a devout practicing Catholic, visited Israel on a personal trip to see the sights of the Holy Land. He was deeply moved, and said he was impressed with Israel’s football team.
Maradona played against Israeli teams at least twice, in 1986 and 1990.
Millions around the world will miss him.
