A heart-pounding devotional song, attributed to the third Chabad Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Schneerson, known as ‘Tzemach Tzedek’. He would sing the melody with great devotion, when he ascended the grave of his mother, Rabbi Deborah-Leah, the daughter of Baal Hatnia. She died when her son was about three years old, giving her life for the continuation of the fountain of Hasidism. When you hear the melody, you can feel the yearning erupting from its sounds for the divine infinity. The singer Akiva performs the tune as part of ‘Thirst’ – a musical venture that renews ancient Hasidic tunes and makes them part of the Israeli soundtrack for all of us.
