Rabbi Adin Even-Israel Steinsaltz, one of the greatest rabbis of our generation, passed away Friday morning in Jerusalem at age 83. The cause of death was stated as acute pneumonia.
Rabbi Steinsaltz is best known for his landmark commentary of the Talmud, a work that changed the face of Torah study for many.
