Reflecting from Capitol Hill – standing in the symbolic center of global political power – on the profound tension between human strength and Divine sovereignty.

Parashat Behar, Daniel Perez’s bar mitzvah parasha, teaches that the Land of Israel ultimately belongs to G-d: “Ki li kol ha’aretz, for the land is Mine.” No matter how powerful we may become, or how much effort we invest, we must never forget that we are only custodians of what truly belongs to Him.

Rav Doron draws on this message while advocating in Washington for the return of Daniel Hy”d and all the hostages. In a place that radiates political influence, he reminds us not to become intoxicated by human power. Yes, we are called to act with strength, strategy and courage – but always with the humility and faith that the course of history rests in G-d’s hands.

This is a heartfelt call and timeless reminder: to do everything in our power – politically, militarily, and spiritually – while knowing it is Hashem Who holds the fate of nations and the destiny of Am Yisrael.
