The village of Mevo Modi’im was established in 1975 by followers of the “Singing Rabbi” Shlomo Carlebach.
What started as a sort of hippie commune has become a tourist attraction for archaeology fans. The village was ravaged by a fire in 2019, but is now rebuilding and expanding, while trying to maintain a feeling of unity and a connection to nature.
