A recording of Yemin Hashem, a nigun by R’ Menachem Mendel, the Tzemach Tzedek, third Rebbe in the Chabad dynasty, recorded LIVE at the JCC Manhattan, in 2023.

A different time, a different world, and still, the prayer ran so deep. We sang this nigun for close to ten minutes in concert, over and over and over, unending, releasing into complete unknown. It was imperfect, it was heart wrenching, I could barely sing or hold the notes at the start. But you all sang with me. We all sang together. And that’s the medicine of this journey, each of us coming with all we are. Singing together; alone, together.

Amid the tumultuousness on so many fronts right now, I’ve been mourning the loss of a dear friend; precious human, mentor, teacher, chosid, rebbe to so, so many, our dear, dear Baruch Binyamin ben Tzvi. His love for nigunim, his ability to listen to a nigun in real time, and his belief in me and deep seeing encouragement propelled me forward in many a dark moment. I’m sharing this series in his honor. His light is shining free in the world now. We can all bask in it, and sing a nigun with.
