Taylor’s Prism, discovered in 1830 in modern day Iraq, recounts King Sennacherib of Assyria’s siege of Jerusalem during the reign of King Hezekiah, direct descendant of King David, 2,700 years ago (during the late 8th century BCE.)
This event is recorded in several places in the Bible including Isaiah chapters 33 and 36; 2 Kings 18:17; 2 Chronicles 32:9, with the Biblical & archeological accounts confirming both the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem, and Sennacherib’s failure to conquer the city.
