While this song is part of the Yom Kippur service, the message is very fitting as we approach Shavuot. We are the nation that Hashem chose to give us the gift of Torah. Just like a father who gives his children that which is most precious to him as a legacy, the children of Israel received that which is most precious to G-d, the ultimate path of connection between man and his creator. How? Through the Torah, which we celebrate on Shavuot, which binds us eternally to our Father in heaven.
